Keeping the Music Alive

As musicians and artists are currently discovering ways to stay creative during a global health crisis, our charge is more clear than ever. In our society and institutions, the arts are not a luxury but a necessity, -especially for our young people. In addition to discovering new ways to spark innovation, we are committed to ensuring that the contributions of Black musicians in the world of music & culture are highlighted and preserved. This season, we are focusing on the music of living Black composers & arrangers. Our focus not only articulates educational and career options for our young people, but also builds on a rich legacy of excellence within the African Diaspora.

Join us this season for a monthly series of student-led conversations with some of the world's leading Black music makers as we discuss their music, our culture, and the future.
